Medical Director

Dr. Smith has been practicing veterinary medicine since 2012 and is experienced in preventative care, surgery and dentistry. He received his Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University. He lives in Houston with his family and enjoys the outdoors and fishing.

Dr. Khanh Tran joined The Corner Vet team in August 2019. While she was not born in Houston, Dr. Tran has resided in the Houston area since immigrating from Vietnam with her family. She comes from a large family where she is the youngest of five girls. Growing up with many pets, Dr. Tran’s interest came from combing her passion for animals and love of medicine.

Dr. Tran attended the University of Houston and graduated with honors receiving her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She briefly left Houston for College Station where she obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M. Her professional interests include surgery, oncology, and wellness care. Dr. Tran currently resides in Pearland with family and dachshund/shih tzu mix, Lacie. During her time off, she loves to travel, hike, and spend time with her family.

Practice Manager

Kim McQueen has been in the veterinary field since 2002. She has worked and managed a few practices in the Katy, Houston areas. She has been with The Corner Vet since April 2019. Kim finds great satisfaction in knowing that she can make a difference in a pet and owner’s life by giving a voice to ones that have none. She has 2 teenage sons and 2 fur babies. In her spare time, she enjoys watching sports and restoring vintage cars with her husband.

JaCorey is a recent graduate of The Vet Tech Institute of Houston. He has two dogs, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and an American Staffordshire Terrier, which are his motivation for going to school. He enjoys sports and competitive outdoor activities.  He says, “Thank you for choosing The Corner Vet!”

Kassandra graduated from The Vet Tech Institute of Houston in 2018. She aspires to become a veterinarian one day. She has a beautiful, sweet 4-year old pit-bull lab mix that she says has heart completely. Working in animal medicine has been her dream since childhood, and her passion.
